The Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis has drawn players from all walks of life and brings music to people of all ages and interests. Our orchestra has many longtime members, but we also have new young talented players who we welcome warmly. We invite your interest in playing with the Orchestra. You will find more information on the auditions page.

Each orchestra member pays dues of $135 per year. Nobody is turned away for financial reasons, however. Alternatives to monetary dues can be arranged. If you must make alternative arrangements, please discuss them with the orchestra manager or the board president.

Members are expected to attend rehearsals. Absences are considered at the discretion of the conductor and may result in not being able to play a concert.

Reheasals are on Tuesday nights from 6:45 PM to 9:00 PM from September through mid May. We also usually rehearse the day proceeding a concert from 10 AM to 12:30 PM.

Concert dress is all black. Men are to wear a tuxedo or black suit, white shirt, black bowtie, and black footwear. Women are to wear basic black with long skirt or pants and long sleeves.
