Established in 1952, the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis has maintained a tradition of excellence and a commitment to new music including commissioning new pieces. We will be continuing, with the leadership of a new music director, to move forward with these goals as well as continuing to expore the music masters of the past.

Over its 72 year history, the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis has been led by 9 different conductors, the last, Cary John Franklin, serving for 30 years. In May of 2024, Cary John Franklin completed his tenure as the music director.
During its 2024-25 concert season, the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis has been led by five guest conductors. In June we announce who will become the leader of this long time community orchestra.
Join us as we boldly move forward!
Our concerts are always free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted.
