Established in 1952, the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis has maintained a tradition of excellence. We will be continuing, with the leadership of a new music director, to strive for musical excellence for ourselves and for our audiences.
Over its 72 year history, the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis has been led by 9 different conductors, the last, Cary John Franklin, serving for 30 years. In May of 2024, Cary John Franklin completed his tenure as the music director.
During its 2024-25 concert season, the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis has been led by five guest conductors. In June we announce who has become the leader of this long time organization.
